Virginia Tech Engagement Photos – Blacksburg, VA – Danielle & Matt

To say that October was a busy month, is a TOTAL understatement! Honestly, I LOVE all of the traveling. Thanks to Danielle and Matt, I finally got to see Virginia Tech. I can officially check Virginia Tech engagement photos off the bucket list! It’s scary driving hours away to a new place and hoping you find great spots to shoot at. Let me tell you, you do NOT have to worry about that at VT! The campus is gorgeous! The buildings remind me of Hogwarts, and that there was a Quidditch club practicing as I left. Basically I was ready to pick out my dorm. Danielle and Matt told me they wanted a different look to their photos. Typically at Virginia Tech you’ll see a lot of photos around the buildings, especially Burruss Hall. Which is great! The campus and buildings are beautiful! But these two wanted something uniquely theirs. They actually did ALL of the location scouting for me. They found spots they liked AND reminded me to get a visitor parking pass when I got there. I swear I have the best clients ever. We started at one of the stone quad entrances and wandered from there. We spent our afternoon hopping from willow tree to willow tree. We made our way around the duck pond and avoided a creepy house. Sorry Matt! Then the most perfect place ever appeared. Our “field of dreams,” and boy was it perfect! These two totally nailed their location scouting!

Oh, and the other little detail I’ve left out? These two flirted the ENTIRE time. It’s like I wasn’t even there…which is really every photographer’s dream. Matt completely adores Danielle. From the sweet chin-cupping kisses, to hunting down a hydrangea bush. He wanted to make this session perfect. Danielle is completely smitten with Matt. She laughed and embraced all of his silliness. These two are perfect for each other. I absolutely cannot WAIT for their Lydia Mountain Lodge wedding. Waiting until 2017 is going to be hard to do! Refresher engagement sessions can be a thing right?!?!?

So one of my favorite things is when bugs make such beautiful bokeh =] These guys were troopers and stood amongst the chaos haha

We QUICKLY learned that this bench is where people go to feed the ducks. How did we know? The ducks told us, with a little ambush.

Here it is! Our “field of dreams.” Which wasn’t a field really. But the light was magical. Magical. No other word for it!
