As a photographer, I have a lot of clients that know the look they want for their pictures, but they just aren’t sure where to do that. I have a bunch of places that I know of, that usually have the right feel for what they are looking for. When the Dixon’s told me about the Adam Thoroughgood house, I googled my little heart out. It did look really pretty, but you never know what you’re going to get until you get there. Let’s just say I was happy as a clam when I got out of my car. Typically my sessions are in the afternoon, to catch that final light before sundown. This session was in the morning, and to say I was a little nervous is an understatement. But once I got there and saw how the light was coming through all of the trees, I was excited and ready to go. Then the Dixon family pulled up and out came a blur of bright colors and blonde hair (well except Todd’s red beard of course). Happy people in bright, coordinated colors make me very happy! A dad that wears a pink shirt for his girls during their family pictures is the best. Not to mention, the beard. We all know beards are close to my heart (ahem, Vernon). Tiffany did such a good job getting everything together. Not only is she beautiful (seriously, look at that big smile!), but she is hilarious. I love reading her Facebook posts…..a girl with a great smile and sarcasm to spare…yea, my type of girl. Tegan (big sister) was ready to go and did an amazing job taking direction. Happy, silly little girls definitely make me love my job. =] Tenley (little sis) made us work a little harder, but a few tickles and Swedish Fish did the trick. I’ve learned to come prepared with bribes for the little ones. I can’t wait to get back together with the Dixon’s for some Christmas pictures!
be silly. be honest. be kind.
