These two. I don’t even know where to start. Seriously, how do I even begin to explain how grateful I am for the opportunity to shoot my first solo wedding? Not only given the opportunity, but to be told over and over and over again how great of a job I’m doing…..and they hadn’t even seen any of the photos yet. I’ll never forget how much faith they had in me that day, and I’ll never be able to thank them enough! I looked forward to Katie & Michael’s day more than I’d probably like to admit. Some people might think it’s a little strange just how excited I was. 😯 I will never forget the excitement when Katie sent me the text telling me they chose me. It was like Christmas. Katie and I go waaaay back to middle school days. We played on the same softball team every year from the very first team I was on. She was my Katie “Bing” (hello, Friends was huge back then and her last name was Chandler…do the math). Now, what feels like a billion years later, I was honored to shoot her wedding. Michael and I also went to high school together. He was a big goofball back then, and not much has changed. 😀 The way he makes Katie smile is one of the best things I’ve ever seen. She literally lights up, and you’ll see that in these photos.
Immediately after their first look it started raining. Katie & Michael ran under an awning and I ran inside to open the door they were near (it was locked of course). However, it did stop and we were able to get some portraits of just the two of them. The rain played this off/on game with us all day. Katie and Michael? Smiled right through it. I was actually kind of in awe at how well they were handling it. Then again, that’s their nature. These two are some of the most laid back people I know. We got the photos we needed and went inside to enjoy the party. Their reception couldn’t have been more perfect. From a little Copperhead Road action to MULTIPLE “The Time of My Life” Dirty Dancing lifts….they had it all. There is no way that I can truly say thank you enough to these two for allowing me to capture their big day. I’ll forever be grateful and they will always hold the special title of my first “#capcouple.”
Michael was literally at a loss for words. So cute!
The exact moment that the rain decided to crash the party.
I told Michael to tell her something that would make her laugh. Since he yelled it as opposed to whispering it to her (I’ll be more clear next time), we all heard. I cannot repeat what he said, but it was hilarious. Once Katie got past the initial shock, she found the humor in it too.
What a great bridal party!
