Destin Florida Family Beach Photos – Traveling Photographer Adventures

When we were planning our trip to Florida this year, I KNEW that I wanted to get out and shoot as much as possible. If you don’t know, we vacation in Destin, FL….where the sand is white and the water is the most beautiful shade of clear green. It’s called the Emerald Coast for a reason! When we arrived on our first day to storm clouds, it wasn’t exactly the picture perfect scenario I had dreamed of. Evelyn and I had planned this session a WHILE ago, and the weather was NOT working with us. I started getting warmed up by shooting my own family as they played at the beach. Evelyn was texting me that they were on their way. Then the rain started. Not a downright pour, but sprinkles. The Underwood’s pulled up and we knocked out this entire session in about 20 minutes! We worked FAST! We also got a softer look to their photos, and no one was being blinded in the sun….and it was the middle of the day! If you don’t know, shooting on the beach in the middle of a sunny day is very hard. Our cloudy day worked out perfect!

My head was spinning after shooting The Underwood’s Destin, FL beach family session. I still can’t believe we did it that fast. Imagine my overwhelming relief when Grant started smiling from the FIRST picture! Babies are the boss of these shoots. I’m so glad the boss was in a great mood that day. It definitely helps that Evelyn & Michael were just as excited about their beach session. Seriously, how adorable is Evelyn? Now this was supposed to be a gender reveal session as well…..but due to various circumstances Evelyn somehow made it to 8 months WITHOUT knowing the gender….not by choice. Since our time together, they have found out they have another boy on the way! Archer will make his debut in October =] I hope I get to do an updated family portrait session with them when I am back down there in April! Congrats to you all!
