There are not enough words to thank Stephanie for these. She did an AMAZING job and stuck with us all evening out at Sandbridge. Vernon and I had never done a true portrait session of just the two of us. When we got married, we were YOUNG. As in, I was 17 and he was 18. We barely knew how to keep ourselves together, let alone plan a wedding. So our families did a lot of the planning for us. Meaning we didn’t choose our photographer either (shudder!). It is hands down one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made. We had no engagement session (granted we were only engaged for 12 days), and had no portrait time of just us on our wedding. All I have other than disposable camera pictures, are a few of our first dance, and the one of us together at the altar after the ceremony. I knew we needed a session of our own. Our 10 Year Anniversary was in March…..can’t think of a better time! We were going to do a session back in March, but I thought about it and I really wanted to wait until it was warmer. Stephanie and I have shot weddings together all season, and have grown closer as friends (she understands my crazy a little I think), so I asked her to do them. Plus, have you SEEN her work? The girl could make a trashcan look light and airy. Seriously, I’m in love with her work. Still kinda shocked she chose me to be her second shooter honestly. I owe her big time. Not only for these photos, but for teaching me SOOO much about wedding photography. I have had the most fun this season, and I notice a huge difference in my own work!
Now about this session. I tell all of my couples that I’m well aware that most guys could think of 1,000 other things they’d rather do. Well Vernon is no exception to that rule. But he knew how important these were to me, and if I’m being perfectly honest, I think he wanted nice pictures of us on our walls too. So after some “nuzzling” practice in the mirror at home, and showing him pictures of sessions to get an idea of what we were going to be doing….off we went. We had to reschedule this session like 3 or 4 times due to weather (Wednesdays are apparently really good rain days). I am SO glad we didn’t settle for an “okay” day. The light we got was perfect. Vernon (and his wild hair) nuzzled their little butts off, and this is the beautiful result! I am so in love with them. I am ordering more prints than I’ll know what to do with, an album, and a canvas or two…..or three.
be silly. be honest. be kind.
You guys are soooooooooo cute! OMG. I can’t stand it. All of these are great- I’m sure you’ll have a hard time picking which ones grace your walls.
