Virginia Beach Engagement Photos – Sandbridge – Melissa & Jonathan

Oh that morning glow. Sunrise engagement sessions are where it’s at! Seriously, Virginia Beach engagement photos have never looked so good. =] Sunrises in Sandbridge will NEVER get old! I don’t get to sunrise sessions as often as I’d like. Because, well….the whole early aspect. But I promise you the results are WORTH it! Even if it’s a cloudy morning we are fine. We don’t have to worry about any harsh light as the sun comes up. Whereas if it’s cloudy at sunset, we have to worry about losing light even faster than normal! If you aren’t typically a morning person, I highly suggest you try it. It’s only ONE day! This might sound a little sappy, but there is some magic that happens in a sunrise session. Maybe a little more romantic? Don’t get me wrong, sunset sessions are gorgeous too. I’ll take either golden hour any time I can! But for a session early in the morning you haven’t had the day wear you down yet. Plus, there’s just something about it that makes my couples a little extra snuggly.

Melissa and Jonathan were NO different. We sat in a nearly empty parking lot the evening before in the rain. Sitting in our cars hoping for a break so we could sneak out and snap a few photos before they made the trip back out to Virginia Tech and Greensboro, NC. Our time was LIMITED. The rain literally hugged the coast the rest of the evening. Seriously, we drove right out of it and into a gorgeous sunset….just not at the beach. We decided to give a sunrise session a try. Man it’s funny how these things work out. It was definitely chilly and windy is an understatement…but look how perfect the morning was! I’d say they made out pretty well =] Not only was that morning glow PERFECT, but we found the most amazing little teepee. Ok so it was really a GIANT stick teepee. But it’s like someone left it there just for us! We may have left with very, VERY cold feet after braving the water…but I was literally jumping for joy on the inside. I just KNEW there was magic I was walking away with on that SD card that morning. Melissa & Jonathan you both NAILED your Virginia Beach engagement photos. I cannot WAIT for your Water Table wedding in July! At least we shouldn’t be freezing by then!

So funny thing….a wave almost swept Melissa’s ring away! While trying to quickly get this seafoam shot, a wave surprised me. I grabbed the ring and started over with fresh foam. Jonathan’s words “man, I was just thinking about you getting wet, or the camera…didn’t even think about the ring.” That was my first priority! Otherwise her gorgeous ring would be halfway to New York by now!

Seriously, you two are adorable. This is one of my favorite shots of the session!
