Brittland Estates Wedding – Maryland – Julianna & Chris

Oh how I loooove a good Brittland Estates wedding! The entire property is absolutely gorgeous and is quite literally a wedding photographer’s dream. Juli & Chris (and their amazing families) did an absolutely beautiful job bringing all of these details together. The perfect blend of classic, pops of color and Harry Potter details! Yup, you read that correctly. Juli and I have the same love for Harry Potter…even if she is a Hufflepuff and I’m a Ravenclaw.

Julianna and Chris were high school sweethearts, and I asked Julianna when she knew Chris was the one. Her response could not have been sweeter. During Chris’ senior year, he dislocated his knee during a soccer game. Julianna rushed out with the athletic trainer, and the two of them ended up taking turns keeping his knee cap in one place. At that moment, I think they both knew their lives would never be the same.

With spectacular views of the open fields, they wed at Brittland Manor on a gorgeous summer day and officially became husband and wife amongst all of the history Chestertown, MD has to offer. They planned a vintage-inspired wedding and incorporated family mementos anywhere they could. From adding jewelry from both of her great grandmothers onto her bouquet, to making a cake table out of the dresser her father had in his own nursery as a child…there were vintage pieces throughout the day. Everything reflecting their appreciation to those who got them to this special day.

When they said I Do, cheers floated along the Chester River and their love seeped into the hearts of guests. Their married lives began with a kiss, but their love was destined far before that moment.

That photo on the far left? Yea, those are her rings on her wand!

Part of the reason I love a Brittland Estates wedding are the beautiful bridal suite & groom suite. Usually the guys get shunned to a dark closet or basement. At this Maryland venue they get a whole lake house!

Couples opting for a Brittland Estates wedding have a few ceremony sites to choose from, I’m SO glad Juli & Chris chose the views of the water!

Seeing the reception all put together was amazing. Glowy lights, uplighting, barn wood tables, gorgeous florals and vintage details? Yes please!

Harry Potter books on the sweetheart table? Of course!

Juli & Chris told me that portrait time was important right from the beginning. With the late summer sunsets, a first look, and allowing me to do the timeline, we ended up with SO much portrait time!

With all of the time we had for bride & groom portraits, we were able to explore Brittland Estates properly.

The sunset on the water was absolutely perfect!
